Volunteering & fundraising

At the heart of our business is a genuine desire to create a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. We support causes close to our hearts, creating opportunities that make real and lasting changes to people’s lives.

We actively support our people to get involved in volunteering through our volunteering programme which provides paid leave for employees who volunteer with our charity partners, or a charity of their choice, enabling our people to give back to the causes they care about.

Through our volunteering days we have built, baked, dug, scrubbed, run, painted, dressed up, dressed down, climbed, hiked and more – all in a bid to make a positive difference.

Supporting Ukraine

So far in 2022 (October), we have raised £1,455 to support the Ukraine crisis through raffles, a silent auction and bake sales.

Approximately 105 of our people supported at the hub in Dean Clough, helping fill and pack items that were loaded in 9 lorries and 3 vans.

Boycott your Bed Challenge

In October a group of people from our Digital Team took part in the 'Boycott your Bed' challenge, which involved sleeping out on the streets of Leeds to raise funds for the Action for Children charity. The team did a fantastic job sleeping out in the cold, with only a sleeping mat and bag to help them through the night. The team raised an amazing £1,181!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

In October, we supported the national Macmillan Coffee Morning by having in person and virtual catch ups across the business. Through donations and bake sales £603.81 was raised for Macmillan

RSPCA

During Pet Week in May, our Halifax and West Malling offices had some very cute doggy visitors from the RSPCA. The lovely pups came along to meet our team, and the RSPCA team sold some doggy treats. We managed to raise a fantastic £270 in donations alone in Halifax.

10k run for AKT

6 of our people ran the Manchester 10k in May raising over £1,800 for our Covéa Pride network's charity partner, AKT

Community food banks

Teams in our Halifax office donated 1,000 tins and canned goods to a local community food bank.

Stephen Long, Director of Operations commented:

“Supporting the communities we operate in is a big part of our ethos at Covéa and being able make a contribution like this, by collecting together smaller donations here and there over a few weeks, really shows the power of the Covéa community. A huge thanks to all involved!”

Supporting Ash Green Primary School

In February arson destroyed the Key Stage 2 block at Ash Green Primary School in Halifax. Our people came together to raise £1,570.

How did we support?

  • Provided 33 pantry bags for the families of Ash Green.
  • More than £398 was raised by our Reading, Halifax and West Malling offices through their delicious bake sales.
  • Donated laptops along with other IT equipment.
  • We hosted mini games which raised £110
  • We've also had direct donations from our wonderful people here at Covéa, our Charity Team and Solicitors.

Covéa's 100k Charity Drop

We pride ourselves at Covéa Insurance on our strong values and our commitment to putting our people, our customers and the communities in which we operate at the heart of what we do.

During the pandemic it was great to see how we all pulled together and continued to support each other and our customers during such a challenging time. We’ve always had strong involvement with local charities, many of which have been badly affected by the Covid-19 crisis, so in 2020 we were thrilled to donate £100,000 to local charities that had been impacted by the crisis, to provide some additional support to these amazing organisations through such a difficult time.

InsureTrek

In 2018, we organised InsureTrek which saw members of the Covéa Insurance team, along with friends from across the insurance industry, take on the Mont Blanc Massif trek and together we raised £103,642 for Insurance United Against Dementia.
