Review: Personal Lines & Protection Partner Conference 2021

April 2021

On the 27th April members of our Executive Board, Senior Leadership and Distribution Teams hosted thirty-six of our Senior partner brokers at our first virtual Partner Conference. The objective was to give our key partners exposure to key stakeholders within our business and to share details on our direction, innovations, and how we can work more closely together.

Director of Personal Lines Distribution, Sue Coffey, kicked off proceedings with a Q&A session with James Gearey, Managing Director, Personal Lines & Protection, who provided insight on our ambitious growth plans and strategic direction. Other Covéa Insurance colleagues including; Ian Bubb, Nick Harrison, Mark Huggins, Tracey Smith, Dan Venner, Jane Sinsbury, Dave Jowett, Steve Cowley and Rebecca Wright then facilitated a number of breakout sessions which provided a great opportunity to speak with peers, discuss the main challenges facing the personal lines market, and how by working together we can convert these challenges into opportunities.

Our guest speaker gold medal winning Paralympian Hannah Cockroft (MBE, DL) later joined to share her story, in particular how her resilient mind-set has helped her overcome a number of challenges to become the most successful British athlete in World Championship history in both the able bodied and Paralympic teams. Inspiring!

At the end of the conference our guests were invited to tuck into their graze boxes (made up of charcuterie and wine) which they were sent ahead of the conference. We received some brilliant feedback from attendees including Johnathan Dixon (Europa Group) “The effort to bring everyone together to keep in touch plus engage in debating very topical issues was very useful. Hannah was an inspiring individual and she has certainly scaled many challenges and succeeded at the highest level, a lesson for us all”.

As the country opens up further and restrictions are relaxed, we look forward to seeing many more of you at our summer events in the coming months, maybe even face to face!
