During one of their regular face-to-face meetings, our broker raised some concerns with our Regional Development Manager (RDM) over a large case of theirs and the poor level of service being provided by the holding insurer. As the case was significant in size, with a premium spend over £45k and with the business looking to expand, the broker was exploring options for the risk and whether we could provide a better home for their client at renewal.
The large, specialist, retail portfolio was ideal for Covéa, and as we were confident our service would be a differentiator, our RDM invited the broker to come over to our Manchester office to meet the underwriters, where they explored the risk in more detail, whilst discussing a defined service proposition. Our development underwriter took the lead in really understanding the risk and cover requirements, which were all backed by our great service.
The broker was delighted with our solution-focused approach and we were able to get price proximate with the renewal terms. They were equally pleased with our existing business/mid-term service proposal and had complete confidence in the underwriter with regional expertise.
We were successful in securing this large, specialist, retail portfolio and have subsequently added on a further four locations quickly and efficiently, in line with our commitment to the broker.
