Sterling Insurance Transfer of Business

to Covea Insurance plc

Background

On 1 January 2016 Covéa Group transferred the general insurance business of Sterling into Covea Insurance plc (Covéa Insurance) to create a single UK insurance business. Covéa Insurance is a well-established UK general insurer specialising in motor, household and commercial insurance products and is also part of the Covéa Group.

Sterling policies (including any expired policy under which policyholders may still have rights) transferred to Covéa Insurance on 1 January 2016. The transfer does not change the benefits payable from any policy, nor will it change the premiums paid.

This transfer was approved by the High Court of Justice of England and Wales on Friday 11 December 2015.

Change of name

On 1 January 2016, Sterling Life Limited was renamed as Covéa Life Limited, and Sterling Insurance Group Limited renamed as Covéa Insurance Services Limited, but there is no change to the legal entities. The registered address for all three Covéa companies is 2 Norman Place, Reading, RG1 8DA.
