A competition to take Pride in

We've entered the Link: LGBT Insurance Network competition to help raise money for LGBTQ+ charities

We’re delighted to be taking part in the LINK PRIDE initiative as part of our continued commitment to being a more inclusive employer.

Link: LGBT Insurance Network have created an exciting project to raise money for LGBTQ+ charities. The competition is to design a t-shirt that promotes Pride, the LGBTQ+ community and the importance of inclusion.

The winner of the competition will receive a fabulous prize from one of the LINK sponsors and the design will be used for the Pride parade in September.

Taking part in this competition is an important step on our ongoing diversity and inclusion journey. It will provide us with the opportunity to really see our business from an LGBTQ+ perspective and builds upon the work our Covéa Pride group, an internal network supporting the LGBTQ+ community, has been doing since its launch in August last year.

Michael Lambert, a founding member and lead of Covéa Pride, believes that forming a partnership with LINK is a step in the right direction for our forum as “it demonstrates that diversity and inclusion is at the heart of what we stand for as business. Covéa has always supported the LGBTQ+ Community where possible and I hope the partnership with LINK will be long and fruitful.”

Throughout April we held a competition which was open to everyone from across the business to create a design for the t-shirt. The winning design would then be submitted on behalf of the business to LINK. We received a lot of very creative entries but eventually the Executive team decided the winning design was created by Digital Recruitment Partner, Becky O'Farrell (below).

Each of our internal diversity and inclusion groups is sponsored and supported by members of the Executive team and the Senior Leadership team. Nick Harrison, Director, Home and Direct to Consumer, at Covéa Insurance says that “I’m a whole hearted advocate of inclusion for everyone. There is still more to be achieved so I became an ally for our LGBTQ+ community here at Covéa. My hope is to start those conversations that we know people are wanting to have, and to break any stigma that may be attached to supporting the LGBTQ+ network.  I want to help us reach our vision of becoming a truly inclusive workplace, where people can come as they are and be their best, regardless."
