What's covered when moving house?
Covid-19 seems to have had an effect on almost all aspects of life, and the property market certainly hasn’t escaped this. With various government initiatives such as the stamp duty tax relaxation introduced in July 2020 and new 5% deposit mortgages in 2021, it’s no surprise that the property industry has been booming.
But what we want has changed too. It’s true that the pandemic has sparked a shift from inner city living, to a desire of wanting to buy and live in the country. The BBC reports that Cornwall is now the top search for property on Rightmove, overtaking London, followed closely by Devon and Dorset. Interestingly, ‘garage’, was the most popular keyword on property search websites in recent months, further evidence proving that what we want in a property is changing.
So how can Covéa help to ensure that your clients are properly protected when they move home? We know how stressful it can be to move house, so we provide a number of automatic covers within our policy wordings (Executive Plus and Executive Home) to help provide peace of mind.
