Covéa Insurance progresses women in leadership agenda with the next generation

9th April

Two years’ on from the launch of HM Treasury’s Women in Finance charter, signatory Covéa Insurance is proud to announce that it will be one of a number of companies supporting Leeds Beckett University to support its own “Women in Leadership” programme.

The insurer will support a series of events and activities designed to accelerate the interest, ambition and potential of the university’s female students.

Tracey Lancaster, Deputy Vice Chancellor - Corporate Communications, Leeds Beckett University, commented,

“Our new Women in Leadership programme is designed to inspire, empower and fuel the aspirations of our female students.

With access to research, case studies and personal reflection, students will develop new skills to support them as they carve out successful careers across a broad range of sectors.

The programme has got off to a fantastic start, attracting students from a diverse spread of academic backgrounds.  With the support from female leaders from a diverse set of backgrounds, including those within major employers such as Covéa Insurance, we expect the programme to go from strength to strength throughout 2018.”

Covéa Insurance has developed its own dedicated female development and networking programme, and over the last 18 months has hosted inspirational talks, workshops and the opportunity to learn from and share experiences with high profile female role models such as entrepreneur and CEO at Pukka Insure, Sam White, Shadow Minister for Flooding and Coastal Communities, Holly Lynch, and President of the CII, Sian Fisher. The Inspire Leading Women programme has been well received by female employees as one of a number of initiatives to influence positive change within the organisation.

Covéa Insurance’s Director of HR & Learning, Lisa Meigh, commented,

"Covéa Insurance is proud to be supporting Leeds Beckett University with their new Women in Leadership programme. Integral to its success is input from individuals and organisations that have a passion for progressing the ‘Women in Leadership’ agenda.  One of the practical steps we have developed in supporting our own female talent has been our dedicated networking programme, so having the chance to support a similar framework outside of our business is fantastic."

The insurer has ramped up its engagement with a number of universities and higher education institutions over the last two years, promoting its Graduate and Future Leader Programmes as part of a series of steps being taken to engage future talent in seeing the industry as an attractive, dynamic and fulfilling career choice for all.
