Covéa Insurance starts 2016 with two new community partnerships

20th January 2016

Covéa Insurance can today announce it has teamed up with two charities local to its West Malling office; the Demelza Hospice (Sittingborne) and The Quest School (Tonbridge) marking the beginning of a long term partnership that will provide valuable ongoing support to both organisations.

The insurer is committed to working with organisations that provide support for young people in its local communities, having already established successful relationships with similar charities in Reading and Halifax. The two new partnerships in West Malling will give employees plenty of opportunities to support their local community through volunteering, fundraising and other events.

Donna Wells, Senior Business Development Manager at Demelza Hospice said:

“We are delighted that Covéa Insurance has chosen to support our vital work providing care for seriously ill children and their families in East Sussex, Kent and South East London. Partnerships such as this are essential in raising awareness, encouraging more people to volunteer and helping to raise the £10.5 million a year it takes to deliver our services, and we are extremely grateful.”

Peter Mepsted, Director and Trustee of Quest School added:

“Everyone at Quest is honoured and delighted to enter into a charity relationship with Covéa Insurance and look forward to working closely together. We work hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for all of our pupils and rely upon the support of all our friends, to provide additional funds to enhance our educational provision. The input from Covéa Insurance will help Quest in continuing with our longer term aims and we are particularly grateful for the opportunity to engage into a long term arrangement. We are now starting to work with the Charity group at Covéa Insurance, to identify how and where we can best utilise the support offered and look forward to a progressive and mutually beneficial relationship.”

John Blundell, Deputy CEO of Covéa Insurance spoke of the importance of supporting the local community:

“As a business, we’re passionate about giving something back to our local communities and our people enjoy the opportunity to work closely with our partners to support them. In Kent, these relationships are just beginning and I look forward to seeing them develop. We already have successful relationships with charities in Reading and Halifax that have seen thousands of pounds raised over the last two years, leading to us being ranked highly in a recent Best Companies survey for ‘giving something back’. We hope to bring the same level of support to Demelza Hospice and Quest School – two richly deserving organisations.”
