Covéa Insurance supports local sixth form students with mock interviews

14th March

Covéa Insurance recently hosted 18 sixth form students from Calder High School at its Halifax offices. The students participated in realistic mock interviews and were marked on punctuality, appearance and communication skills.

The event provided the students with excellent insight into what would be expected from them in a real life job interview, whilst also having the added benefit of the experience forming part of an assignment on their business course.

Jan Healey, Associate Head Teacher, Calder High School commented:

“For a number of years BTEC L3 students have had the fantastic opportunity of working with Covéa Insurance. This year, students were not only interviewed by Covéa Insurance staff but were invited to have their interviews at the offices in Halifax. They found this extremely useful and said that the experience was a very useful insight into what to expect in interviews. As a result of the support Covéa Insurance have given our students, many of them are working towards Distinction level on this unit.”

James Reader, Chief Executive of Covéa Insurance also commented:

“This was the first event of this type that we have hosted internally and it was a huge success. We pride ourselves on supporting our local communities and support for our local schools forms a large part of the work we do. It’s great that this event has helped the students gain skills in a practical environment that will support them once they make their way in to the world of work and start applying for jobs.”
