Should I stay(cation) or should I go?
As lockdown rules ease, and after months of being confined to our homes, more and more people are deciding on where they want to go on holiday...
Safe to say 2020 hasn’t exactly gone to plan. Parents have been juggling maintaining their pre-Coronavirus careers with a new career in teaching, weddings have been postponed and dream holidays have been cancelled. So when this is over, what is the first thing you want to do? It might be to go and hug a family member you don’t live with, it might be to go and dance the night away in a bar, but what about booking a holiday? Have the current travel restrictions across the world got you worried about travelling abroad again for a while? Especially considering that recently the rules for some holidaymaker’s changed while they were on holiday and therefore have no choice but to follow the quarantine rules when they arrive back in the UK.
If you are feeling a bit anxious about going abroad again (which is understandable and you won’t be the only one), there are alternative ways to make sure you get a well-deserved break away from the home that you’ve been in for months. In a recent survey “24.9% say they’d prefer to holiday in the UK until there is a Coronavirus vaccine.” Treating yourself to a staycation - a holiday spent at home or in your home country - is one way to give yourself a break and to help you unwind. So it’s no surprise that when lockdown started to ease at the beginning of July thousands of tourists flocked to the coastal delights of Devon and Cornwall to escape that ‘new normal’ way of living that had encompassed them for months.
If you're looking to enjoy a staycation in the coming weeks or months then please be assured that our HNW Executive Travel policy covers trips within the United Kingdom.
